If you register a child to attend 4-H summer camp with Polk County 4-H before Friday, Dec. 17, 4-H will provide you with a Christmas package to give to your camper that includes a summer camp gift certificate, a backpack, a water bottle, and more!
Polk County 4-H will be camping at the Betsy-Jeff Penn Center (Reidsville, N.C.) June 26 -July 1, 2022. Nestled on nearly 200 acres of forests, lakes, streams, and fields in the North Carolina Piedmont, the camp center is accredited by the American Camping Association which ensures BJP adheres to the highest standards for safety, operations, and program quality.
Campers will participate in traditional camp activities such as horseback riding, canoeing on Lake Hazel, archery, rock wall climbing, swimming, arts & crafts, cookouts, campfires, nature exploration, team building, high ropes, and more. Summer camps offer youth the ability to create memories and friendships while building skills such as teamwork, social skills, and character development to become more successful in life.
Polk County welcomes children ages 8-12 to register for camp this year. It is not necessary to be a 4-H member to attend camp. The cost to attend summer camp at the Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Center is $500. This includes all camp fees, t-shirt, store money, transportation, and insurance. A $100 deposit is due at the time of registration and the remaining balance can be paid in increments, with final payments due by June 1, 2022. A limited number of scholarships may also be available to already-established families within our Polk County 4-H program.
