Collapse ▲As if we in Polk County aren’t excited enough about 2021, it also means that it’s time for N.C. Cooperative Extension of Polk County’s annual berry & asparagus sale! “In the bleak mid-winter” we can all use thoughts of succulent berries hanging from warm summer branches and vines to cheer us up. And how wonderful will it be when those first asparagus shoots peek up through the ground in years to come? Let’s plan ahead for a wonderful harvest!
This year, plant lovers have their choice of five varieties of blueberries, and two types each of strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, asparagus. We will be taking orders for the berry plants through February 26, 2021, and then the berries should be ready for pickup in mid-March.
NOTE: All proceeds from the plant sale will go directly back into the programs, outreach, and educational programs of the N.C. Cooperative Extension of Polk County!
UPDATE:
We have now sold out of most varieties of berries. We still have plenty of asparagus for sale. You can view our remaining inventory using the link below.
Payment Info
Payment for all orders is via cash or check. Checks may be made payable to PCEEF (Polk County Extension Education Fund). Payments should be made no later than February 26, 2020, and can be submitted in person at our offices at 79 Carmel Lane in Columbus OR by mail to N.C. Cooperative Extension of Polk County, PO Box 187, Columbus NC 28722.
