Farm Taxation Workshop and Dinner

— Written By

Are you earning money by managing or working on a farm? Then you are in the farm business! And, as you probably are becoming aware, taxation has a huge impact on the business and personal lives of most farm business owners.

Believe it or not, a lot of tax code is written for farmers. This is to make food more affordable and to encourage workers to stay in, or even take up the business of farming. Not every tax preparer, however, knows how to guide farmers toward making the most of the laws that benefit them. People in agriculture need to have at least a basic knowledge of farm taxes, and ideally, a partner who can point them toward exemptions and deductions they might not be aware of.

In Polk County, farmers are fortunate to have a tax expert with plenty of experience in ag-specific taxation: Larry Swartz of SwartzCPA Firm in Tryon. On October 25, 2018, Larry will be at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Polk County Center to lead a workshop on subjects like:

  • Schedule F
  • Incorporation of Farms
  • Allowable deductions and depreciations
  • and much more!

The Extension will be providing dinner for the event and the fee for both dinner and the workshop is only $10. To register, call the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Polk County Center at 828/894-8218 or register online. There is limited availability for this event, so register today!
