Forest Resources

Nearly 60 percent of North Carolina's 33 million acres is considered forestland. North Carolina Cooperative Extension works in partnership with other agencies to provide research-based educational programs that help young people, landowners, foresters, natural resource managers and others understand and make wise use of valuable forest resources.

The Forestry and Environmental Outreach Program (FEOP) is a unit within the Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources at NC State University's College of Natural Resources. The program provides a critical outreach component bringing the academic knowledge and applied research provided by the College of Natural Resources and NC Cooperative Extension Forestry to the citizens of North Carolina.
